Fire Extinguisher & Fire Protection Service in Calvert City, KY

Served from our Paducah shop

First-Line technician checking the valve on two red fire extinguishers in the shop

Calvert City is worked out of our Paducah shop, and the techs come out to the plants and businesses here.

If you have a boat of your own, that falls under our pleasure craft work, which covers the extinguishers on the boat and the fire system in its engine compartment.

Calvert City has a lot of chemical plants along the Tennessee River, and they make up most of our work here. Next to them are the metals plants, the river terminals, a data center, and the contractors who keep all of it running, from the crane and rigging crews to the insulation and sheet metal outfits. In town there are restaurants, churches, stores, and the country club on our list too.

Plant work here goes past hanging extinguishers. A few of the plants have us walk every extinguisher once a month, and we work on special hazard systems, the CO2, Halon, and clean agent kind, in the spots where water or a handheld won’t do. Of everything we put in, only the special hazard systems come with an alarm.

At the data center, the extinguisher in the server rooms should be a clean agent like Cleanguard+. Cleanguard+ won’t damage the equipment. The bigger Cleanguard+ sizes carry an A rating, so they count for building protection too and cover the paper, wood, and plastic in the room. CO2 is a different extinguisher. It’s a good fit by the electrical panels, but it isn’t the pick for the server racks, because the cold discharge can thermal-shock sensitive electronics.

With that many extinguishers on a site, recharges and hydro tests come up all year long. We recharge on site when we can. Our trucks carry loaners. If an extinguisher has to come back to the shop, a loaner goes up in its place until yours is back.

We do more than extinguishers, too. We inspect, test, service, and repair fire alarm systems, and we put in new ones. We also put in security systems and cameras. A chemical plant or a river terminal might want cameras on the gates, the fence line, and the loading areas. A contractor’s yard full of cranes and rigging can use them after the crews leave, and a country club might want them on the clubhouse doors and the parking lot. We can set up monitoring on your security system and your fire alarm, so somebody is watching when the building’s empty. It’s one company and one number for all of it.

Compliance

At the plants in Calvert City, NFPA 10 is the starting point. It’s the country-wide standard for portable extinguishers, and every extinguisher we service here is done to it. The plants also answer to OSHA, and for sites on Avetta, our reports cover what it wants to see. On top of all that, the local fire marshal or inspector gets the final word, and we do what they ask. We leave a report for your safety files.

Questions

Which of your shops takes care of Calvert City?
Our Paducah shop at 1333 N 8th St, Paducah, KY 42001. Benton and the rest of Marshall County run off the same shop.
Can you do the monthly walk-throughs at our plant?
Yes. A tech walks the site once a month and looks at every extinguisher, and we leave a report. That takes care of the monthly check, and the yearly service, the six-year work, and any hydro tests get done on top of it.
Can you train our crew?
Yes. Employees get extinguisher training when they start and every year. We can do it right at the plant, so nobody has to leave the site.
Somebody else put in our special hazard system. Can you service it?
Yes, we can take over the service on a system another company installed. The tech will look it over first and tell you what it needs. Call 1-800-348-9604 to set that up.
