Our headquarters shop is at 1333 N 8th St.
The techs who work Paducah work out of this building, so the truck that pulls up at your place is coming from across town. We take care of churches, schools, restaurants, banks, clinics, hotels, car dealers, the river terminals and the railroad, and a long run of plants and shops in between. A lot of those customers have us on more than their extinguishers. Many of them also have us test the exit and emergency lights, service the hood system over the cook line, or inspect and monitor the fire alarm, and we’ve put in a good number of security systems around town.
PADUCAH · KY · STAFFED SHOP
1333 N 8th St, Paducah, KY 42001
Monday–Friday 8am–5pm
After-hours emergency service available.
We’ve been on North 8th since 1984. From this shop we cover western Kentucky, southern Illinois, and Tennessee, and we take care of plants, hospitals, schools, and commercial buildings.
Paducah sits where the Tennessee runs into the Ohio, so a lot of our work here is on towboats. Most of the time we catch a ride out and get on the boat while it’s working.
We do more than extinguishers, too. We inspect, test, service, and repair fire alarm systems, and we put in new ones. We also put in security systems and cameras. A hotel might want cameras in the lobby, out on the parking lot, and at the side doors, and a car dealer can point a few at the lot after closing. At the river terminals and along the railroad, cameras belong on the gates and the loading areas. A bank or a clinic can put access control on the back offices so only staff get in. We can set up monitoring on your security system and your fire alarm, so somebody is watching when the building’s empty. It’s one company and one number for all of it.
Our trucks carry loaners. If an extinguisher has to come back to the shop, a loaner goes up in its place until yours is back.

Services from this shop
Who we work for in Paducah
We work for businesses all over Paducah, and here are a few of them. We put in the security and camera systems for H.T. Hackney. At Boyd CAT, we service the fire suppression systems on heavy equipment, and at Murtco we installed a clean agent system. At H.B. Fuller, we do the monthly walk-throughs, the yearly and six-month service, hydro testing, and fire safety training. Out at TVA's Shawnee Fossil Plant in West Paducah, we keep up the extinguishers.
How it works
01
Get in touch
Call or send the quote form, and we’ll set up the visit.
02
We come to you
A tech walks the building and finds every extinguisher, light, and system that’s due.
03
We service it and leave a report
Every extinguisher gets inspected and serviced, and you get a report for the fire marshal and your files.
04
We keep the due dates
You don’t have to think about them.
Compliance
Every extinguisher we service out of North 8th Street is done to NFPA 10, which is the national standard for portable extinguishers. That standard is where we start, but it isn’t the last word. The fire marshal or inspector who comes through your building has the final say, so if they want something handled a certain way, that’s the way we handle it.
At the plants and the terminals we keep OSHA in mind as well. We leave a report. Keep it with the rest of your building papers, because that’s where an inspector will ask for it.
Questions
- Is the Paducah shop the main one?
- Yes. Our headquarters is at 1333 N 8th St, Paducah, KY 42001, and the office is open Monday through Friday from 8 to 5. First-Line has been family-owned since 1984. If you want to get on the schedule, call 1-800-348-9604.
- Do you monitor security cameras?
- No. Our monitoring covers security systems and fire alarms, not cameras. We do install camera systems, and around Paducah we put in, inspect, and monitor a lot of security systems and fire alarms.
- We run a restaurant. What do we need from you?
- Your hood system needs service every six months. The tech can do it while the kitchen is cooking, so you don’t have to stop serving. The cook line also gets a Class K extinguisher. The ABC extinguishers around the rest of the building work on grease too, and we take care of those as well.
- What is the six-year service?
- Stored-pressure dry chemical extinguishers are discharged and get an internal examination before they’re recharged. That’s the six-year job. Some cylinders also come due for a hydro test along the way, and we handle those too.
