When a machine catches fire, the system has to put it out before it spreads.
Loaders, dozers, haul trucks, and excavators run hot. Hydraulic lines leak onto hot engine parts, and dust and debris pile up in the engine bay. A fire can start where the operator can’t see it, and by the time they notice, a handheld extinguisher often can’t put it out.
A vehicle suppression system is mounted right on the machine. We match the system to the hazard, install it, and inspect and service it. We keep the due dates. You don’t have to think about them.
How it works
The system has a tank of agent mounted on the machine, with hoses and nozzles aimed at the places a fire is most likely to start, like the engine, the hydraulics, and the transmission. Depending on the system, it goes off on its own when it senses a fire, or the operator sets it off from the cab.
A burned machine costs a lot, and it’s down a long time. More important, the system gives the operator time to get off safely.
How the job goes
- We look at the machine and where a fire would start on it.
- We match the system to the hazard on that machine.
- We install it and test it before it goes back to work.
After it’s in
We come to the yard or the job site and service the system on the machine. Cylinders get hydro-tested when they’re due. We leave a report. We keep up with the date.
When you add machines to the fleet, call us, and we’ll put them on the same calendar.

If it goes off
Once a system discharges, that machine isn’t protected until it’s recharged. Call. Our 24-hour service recharges it so the machine can go back to work.

- Can you take over a system somebody else put in?
- Yes. We’ll look it over, tell you what shape it’s in, and put it on your calendar.
- Does the machine still need a handheld extinguisher?
- Most do. The system covers the machine, and the handheld is backup for the operator.
