Fire Extinguisher & Fire Protection Service in Mayfield, KY

Served from our Paducah shop

Mayfield is a short run down US 45 from our Paducah shop.

We work Mayfield out of our Paducah shop on North 8th Street, about 27 miles down US 45. It’s the same techs and the same trucks that cover Paducah, and Graves County is on the route.

What we see in Graves County

Graves County is a working county. There are poultry plants, farm equipment and machine shops, compressor makers, sawmills, concrete plants, and trucking outfits.

On those floors we match the extinguisher to the hazard, whether it’s fuel, dust, or hydraulic oil. When a handheld isn’t enough, we put in a suppression system, or suppression on the vehicles and equipment.

Downtown has been rebuilding since the December 2021 tornado. A new building or a reopened storefront needs the same things before the doors open: extinguishers hung and inspected, and exit and emergency lights that work. If you’re opening a new space, start with fire compliance for new businesses.

Kitchens, churches, schools, and clinics get the same visit. We service restaurant hood systems every six months too, and we can work while the kitchen is cooking. That’s UL 300 commercial kitchen suppression.

Our trucks carry loaners. If an extinguisher has to come back to the shop, a loaner goes up in its place until yours is back.

We do more than extinguishers, too. We inspect, test, service, and repair fire alarm systems, and we put in new ones. We also put in security systems and cameras. A poultry plant might want cameras on the truck gate and the loading docks, and a sawmill or a concrete plant can use them on the yard after the crew goes home. Downtown, a reopened storefront can put one on the front door and one in the alley. We can set up monitoring on your security system and your fire alarm, so somebody is watching when the building’s empty. It’s one company and one number for all of it.

Who we work for in Mayfield

We work for businesses all over Mayfield, and here are a few of them. We take care of Progress Rail, with the extinguishers, the monthly walk-throughs, and the exit and emergency lights. We do the same extinguisher work and monthly walk-throughs at GFL Environmental and Republic Services. At West Kentucky RECC, we handle the extinguishers and the fire alarm.

Compliance

When the Paducah techs work in Graves County, they follow NFPA 10, which is the national standard for portable extinguishers. The person with the last word, though, is the local fire marshal or inspector who comes to look at your building, and when they want something done their way, we do it their way. The plants have OSHA to think about too, and we work to that. We leave a report, and that paper is what you show the inspector.

Mayfield questions

Where do the techs come from?
They come down US 45 from our Paducah shop at 1333 N 8th St, Paducah, KY 42001. It’s a family-owned shop, and it’s been on North 8th since 1984.
We’re reopening a building downtown. What do we need before the fire marshal walks it?
You’ll want the extinguishers hung, inspected, and serviced, and the exit and emergency lights tested. If there’s a kitchen, the hood system needs service, and if the building has a fire alarm, it needs its test. Call us before the walkthrough, not after. For more, read our four steps to pass your Kentucky fire marshal inspection.
Can you train our crew at the plant?
Yes. We bring live-fire extinguisher training to your site, so your people put out a real fire instead of watching slides.
Do you work farm and equipment shops?
Yes. We do the extinguishers on the shop floor, and we put suppression on the equipment when a handheld isn’t enough.
We run a daycare, a school, or a church. What do you check?
Every extinguisher gets its yearly inspection and service, and somebody should look at each one every month in between. We run the exit and emergency lights through their test so they’ll light the way out if the power fails, and if there’s a kitchen, the hood system gets serviced every six months. Your doors stay open while we inspect. Nobody has to clear the building while we work.
